We are Yalda and Aldona, two prominent Calgary personal stylists with a wide range of experience in the fashion industry, and have joined forces to create Style Squared!
Our love of fashion and desire to help others feel great has brought us together to help individuals rediscover their unique selves by empowering and educating them to identify the style that truly reflects their authentic self, while feeling confident and inspired.
Having personally undergone illnesses and life experiences which have resulted in changes in our bodies, weight, and confidence, we wanted to create a company and offer styling services that don’t just focus on how to dress, but also incorporate elements of mental wellness and confidence building as well.
We pride ourselves on bringing our clients a knowledgeable and judgement-free experience to help you look and feel amazing!
Yalda is a mom, fashion stylist and entrepreneur. She was recently the official stylist for the show, Style in the City on Global Calgary & City TV, stylist for the Calgary chapter of the international business speaker series, Fuck Up Nights (which takes place in 86 countries) as well as a Contributing Editor/Copy Editor for Houston based Luxur Lux Magazine, which focuses on fashion, female empowerment & entrepreneurship. She is also an advocate for raising awareness about mental health, particularly postpartum mental health, by partaking in various initiatives to help raise awareness and funds after having personally experienced the ailment.
Yalda's love of fashion goes back to childhood, as she's always had a creative eye, with an innate ability to conceptualize styling unique and interesting ensembles.
Her educational background provided her with a B.Sc. in Psychology & a B.Comm. (Marketing), as well as currently receiving formal training in fashion styling from the New York Institute of Art & Design.
With a highly successful career spanning almost ten years in corporate oil & gas (Policy/HR), she left the corporate world and pursued her passion as a fashion stylist. Providing all ranges of styling services, from TV, editorial, special events, personal styling, and educational sessions such as Style Squared, Yalda continues to share her love of fashion as a means to further educate and inspire men and women to look and feel their best.
Aldona Barutowicz has been a photographer, stylist and publicist for many years, with vast experience with personal styling, editorial and presenting styling segments on multiple television networks. She launched her work as the Street Style Huntress over 10 years ago with Style YYC in Swerve Magazine and has since photographed for various blogs and publications, covered NYFW and has been showcased for her own personal style, including Avenue Magazine's January 2012 cover.
She is the founder and CEO of Aldona B Creative - a hub for á la carte communications, design and photography services that empower their clients on how they tell their story. Aldona and her team have exceptional experience producing branding, fashion and lifestyle content for websites, publications, marketing materials and more. Their publicity and communications portfolio includes theatre companies, lifestyle brands, artists, entrepreneurs and fashion boutiques. They have re-branded new and existing businesses, and created flexible and forward-thinking strategies to engage their clients' social networks, share their products and services, and expand their influence online.
Aldona is thrilled to be expanding her fashion portfolio even further with Style Squared, which she hopes will inspire men and women with their personal style, self-expression and how they show up in the world!
